Electrical Contractors: Things You Need to Know
I never understood why we call the prayer single phase. I do understand if one of the taps on the primary is grounded. But where I live two primaries go to the transformer, so two phases stepped down to 120 240.
Cool
Stop making electrical videos and yourself look bad bro 😂
On your dead end system always push your hot never a leg , your white is always a neutral or the white is always hot. It is never nothing so on your first switch don’t put your hot. You will push your hot with your neutral or your white on your travel and your leg coming from your light will go around the screw it will never be pushed on a neutral or your white and your.
FPE Stab-Lok solved the problem of breakers always tripping, but people still weren't satisfied. You just can't please everybody.
Nobody knew what he meant by dumbing down the trade to installers for a profit.. it's wicked in California
Nice and now the box shifts and the switches and outlets are off the tile amd drywall
What channel can I watch for rudgid 1/2. 3/34, 1inch bending
My first time when learning electrical. I was told to disconnect a 120 v and not listen like I should. I connected it to a 277 v and the next thing I hear was boom. The office computer was out and the outlets was all black lol.
As an electrician of 40 years, some things we take for granted, and safety is one of those things. Thank you for the refresher course and bringing it to light my friend
my brain hurts now ):
Cool background scenario
Adding the operators to the diagram made it easy. Thanks.
This is great. Easy to understand and interesting at the same time. I love how the freq. cancelling holds true for the entire EMS.
Excellent work. I wish more tradesmen took as much pride in their finished product. There are a lot of similarities between this and wiring an industrial control panel. One thing I tell new guys is to watch the "flow" of the wiring to keep things from crossing any more than absolutely necessary. I use painters' tape for temporary tags on the wires above then put heat shrink labels on the panel wiring.
What if it's a multifamily unit? How would you ground that building?
Thanks good advice
Your videos are always super awesome and i learn so much. However, since I can't dm you...I just wanted to make a small correction so you can continue to produce even more top notch content.. it's not that the neutral has current on it. It may have a potential. It shouldnt but if the neutral isnt grounded properly or isnt near the spot you are at, it will "float". The neutral wires would have a potential on them that is different than where your feet are. if you were to touch it, you would complete the circuit to ground, allowing current to pass.and if it helps a little more, potential is measured in voltage. It's the potential for something to do work ;-) that's why a motor connected to 120 or 240 will have the same power. The potential of the 240 let's the motor do more work with less current.
100% anybody who reads needs to try to put it in their own words, u will never forget what u learned if u do. Great vid man!!
I do the same thing with a small section of wire
Or you use the 3/4 inch hole and connector which allows three vs the 1/2 inch ...😂😂
That EVIL laugh tells all ! You've shocked an apprentice before! MMMMOOOOHAAHAA ! Great video Thanks "loads"!
When I built my garage, it was code to attach a #6 to the rebar in the foundation and just left coiled up at the corner for future electrical installation. 1 - do I have to run my first ground rod 6 ft from the foundation ground? 2 - do I tie the foundation ground to the ground rods and make one connection to the panel ground bar or run the foundation ground and the 2 ground rods separate from each other into the garage and tie them separately into the ground bar of the panel ? Thanks!
Hello dear friends so is that way throttle work with my baizifu conversion kit brushless kit moto sir.😊😅Norman Wray
Deoxit type stuff?
Can also write over it with a dry erase marker and wipe it off
Dude thank you so much. I've hated my last few jobs and have been looking into becoming an electrician. Did a great job on explaining these to a layman
The new AL doesn’t even need nolox
This Is Awesome Program 😄👏
Good morning, We live in an old house whose breaker is only 100 amps, 24 spaces. We want to change to 200 amps, because 100 amps is no longer enough. We would like to know what you suggested for changing the 100-amp breaker. Which is better: 20 spaces for 40 circuits, 42 spaces for 42 circuits, 40 spaces for 80 circuits? Alternative? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and have a nice day!
Will this work on 6awg wire?
Not safe for kids to listen to.
You literally made everything crystal clear man thank you.
THANKS!!!
KOBE!
Im a utility worker (substations) going to school to be an electrician. Been wiring relays and such for years this video has cleared up alot thank you!
Its a great trade but keep in mind that you have to take care of your body because if you don't or if you get hurt skiing or rock climbing you'll be out on workman's comp or worse disability...
Facts. Just working and going to places . Kids can't stand off their phones and I'm speaking 25 and younger 😂
Now I know y we call it the widowmaker
Was using a left handed skilsaw yesterday and was supprised by how it wasnt uncomfortable for me. Yet if i use my drill or impact left handed its weird
Would love to start an apprenticeship with this guy haha
Dustin, where have you been. Is everything OK???????
Such a wide variety of comments. I own one as a lead. Rarely use it,but when I need to make plywood back for a multifamily, rip some 2xs for various situations (Framing for bath exhaust, moving boxes away from trim, building a quick wall for a panel, etc) it is nicer and quicker than an oscillating or reciprocating saw. For an actual apprentice out there this tool should be very low on your priority list. There are a number of power tools to buy before this-drill/driver, recip saw, oscillating tool, sds drill, just to name a few. Those will generally serve you many times more than a circ saw. As for all the comments about the company providing you tools that has not been my experience-I know several companies and not one provides your hand tools or your standard run of the mill battery tools. Union outfits might, but having spent 7 years at a unionize job (not trades related) I got to see all the bad in unions and I have no desire to ever in a union ever again. What's great about the path I've taken is if I ever decide to go solo/1099 I pretty much have everything I'd need except a couple specialty tools.
Buy a corded saw like a man
When I tighten down that Allen it twists the No ox into the wire good enough for me lol
Just keep saying fish sticks
I'm struggling with the standing around when I'm helping the journeyman. Esp when he is measuring or thinking or doing single man work. I don't know what to do and it sucks that a lot of times I don't know what to do next. I've been an apprentice for a month now. My favorite thing about the job is when im giving my own projects that keeps me busy and I don't have to worry about standing around
as a twenty plus year long electrician i have used a skill saw exactly ZERO times for electrical work. do not waste your money on this.
Honestly, I just peal the label off and print the correct one. Haven't had the sharpie issue, though.
👎🏼 hater and crude comments up in here
